A comparison of energy consumption and SLA violation between homogeneous and heterogeneous environments with auto-migration and server consolidation features disabled is presented. In heterogeneous clouds, the level of heterogeneity was set to rack level. SE indicates the staged evaluation strategy, as explained in Energy efficiency section. Energy usage is measured in units of kWh, while SLA violations are calculated according to the equation discussed in Penalty for performance degradation section
